With so much VC money being invested in emerging markets the hope of a more inclusive and equitable global order, as the amount of sociological clout of the 4 billion still living without social security has significant implications, in so far as globalization as well. (I think it is a mistake to discount President Trump on this account too, as he is often cited with policies that ultimately are beneficial in this regard) Another thing that runs counter to the global protests of the new normal and the pandemic economic contagion is a new space age that may have well been ushered in with the flight of the SpaceX spacecraft to the space station. If all goes well, as it seems to be doing, we will be on our way to Mars and beyond by 2024 (again, SpaceX) which will make us a spacefaring species guiding us, as Elon Musk says, to the stars. It is important to have some perspective on this, as a space age of this proportion may have come at just the right time, when hopes and some expectations are high, and it will do us a world of good.
